Jacqueline Lefferts came all the way from New York to study at Chelsea Textiles and has recently been nominated by Texprint which exhibits the best of British Textile talent in the Triangle gallery at Chelsea College of Art. Texprint promotes the best of British talent with the support of industry professionals worldwide and has launched many well known textile designers. Jacqueline got selected for her luxury weaving which is based on the Leno weave technique is used to create lace effect cloths in rich colours that exude luxury combined with a nostalgic longing for the past. Congratulations to all the talented Chelsea students who graduated on Monday 16th July in the iconic surroundings of the Royal Festival Hall, SouthBank. It was a grand event with everyone looking amazing and proud. Chelsea BA Textile Design graduates have been invited to showcase their work alongside other graduates at Latitude Festival again this year. They’ll be taking the stage at 4.15pm Friday 13th July…be there at the Waterfront stage. Collections will be shown from knit designers: Tom Diodato, Mio Kuromori (see image), Lu Yang and Rong Jing Yu; print design collections from Olivia Hollis, Alice Munteanu and Emily Smith.
